Why does Hillingdon council not want to hear from local residents?

Hillingdon Alliance of Residents' Associations has launched a petition about changes to the Council's Residents' Petition Scheme. The proposals would increase petition signature thresholds and remove automatic public hearings.

Petitions are one of the last ways residents can collectively raise concerns with the council. After refusing to attend public meetings, making it harder to call the council or see people at the Civic Centre – it feels like more of the same and anything but ‘putting residents first’. If you still want the right to be heard – please do sign and share the petition.
