Hillingdon Council does not care about local businesses

I have written to Cllr Tuckwell, Leader of Hillingdon Council, after hearing from independent businesses across the borough about huge rent rises and repair issues that have gone unresolved for years.

These businesses have tried to raise their concerns. Many feel they have not been heard.

At Sutton Court, traders gathered hundreds of signatures and submitted a formal petition. The Council rejected it without even giving them a hearing. That is not good enough.

These are businesses that have served our community for decades. They deserve fair treatment and a Council that is willing to listen, not one that hopes this issue will quietly go away.

I have asked the Council to set out how it will address these concerns and whether it will introduce a clear rents policy that supports small, independent businesses.

I will keep standing with local traders and pushing for their voices to be heard.
